Why do we use the Gonstead Method?

Why do we use the

Gonstead Method?

Would you ever make a health decision without as much information as possible? Of course not, and neither will we! In our office we have a saying “To see is to know, to not see is to guess… and we will never guess when it comes to your health”. This is why we practice the Gonstead method of Chiropractic. As Gonstead practitioners, we believe that every person deserves a thorough analysis to ensure that they are getting the best care possible without any guesswork. YOUR CARE is YOUR CARE, and NOT ANYONE ELSE'S CARE!

The 5 Components

The 5 Components

#1: X-Rays

X-rays act as a window into the health of your nervous system and spine. They allow us to see where your current problem is, where issues that may not have symptoms yet are, and where any future issues may begin.. X-rays also allow us to see your unique spine. People often have differences in their spine that can go unnoticed, and just being off by one bone when adjusting could make the difference between you getting better and you not experiencing improvement in your health!

#2: Instrumentation

The Gonstead method uses an instrument called the Nervo-scope. This instrument gives us a real-time view of the health of your nervous system. It shows us the areas of your spine that are inflamed and putting pressure on your nervous system. By using this every visit, we can see current information showing where your body needs support, and how it is healing.

#3: Palpation

We use two different types of palpation, static and motion. By using two different types, we can precisely pinpoint areas of spinal involvement. We feel for the presence of tenderness, swelling (edema), and abnormal muscle tightness. By checking for changes in tone, texture, and movement we are able to find the exact area of your spine that is subluxated!

#4: Visualization

This step starts as soon as you enter the office, and is a way of double checking all of our other findings! We have spent countless hours in training looking for the subtle changes that occur with your posture, movement, and the way you walk. All of these observations and differences help us get a full picture of you.

#5: Case Management

Your symptoms tell us a lot, that's why it's a core principle of Eden Chiropractic to let you tell your story.  Your nervous system controls all other systems of your body, so listening to what is going on with your body can help us discover where the main problem is, and aid us in giving you the adjustment you need!
